New York, NY, February 8, 2016 – The Saint At Large, gaydom’s preeminent party producer, announces this year’s BLACK PARTY theme, “SUBmerged.” Set in world of surging sea levels and drowning cities, rogue submarines break the surface in the black of night to whisk willing survivors to an unregulated subterranean world of brothels, dungeons and decadence lorded over by maritime pirates.
Structured in five acts corresponding to sets by five headlining DJ`s of increasingly progressive dance music, the Black Party draws attendees into an intensely immersive environment, ignited throughout the 18+ hours by the party`s renown Strange Live Acts. Acclaimed conceptual artist, Rob Roth (Rhianna, David Bowie, Lady Gaga, Click + Drag), has joined this year`s creative team to layer the event with hallucinatory depravity,
In 2015, after a 24-year residency at Roseland Ballroom, the Black Party made its spectacular Brooklyn debut in an architecturally transformed industrial space. This year`s “SUBmerged” theme reflects the party`s continued evolution into a back-to-basics raw, yet wildly creative, warehouse experience.
Held on the weekend closest to the vernal equinox, the annual Rites of Spring celebration has firmly established itself as gay New York’s biggest night of the year. Each year, the Black Party reliably delivers an utterly unique, fiercely legendary and highly anticipated one-night only, no-holds barred bacchanalia. Jetting in from over three continents, the loyal tribe numbers over 4000, all eager to shed their winter skins and reveal their darkest fetish fantasies.
